The creatures, fish and the coral environment are a dazzling array of colours, shapes and patterns that defy accurate description by words alone. Divers have a great desire to share this incredible world with others

So why isn't every diver taking photo's?

Fiction: Equipment is expensive. Fact: Photography equipment can start as little as $549 for a entry level digital camera and a little over $1000 for a digital system with a strobe.

Course Outline

The purpose of the PADI Underwater Digital Photographer specialty course is to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of underwater still photography. The course is intended to serve as a safe and supervised introduction to underwater still photography techniques used in the underwater environment. Skills will develop practical knowledge of photographic principles,composition,strobe and available light photography and camera-handling techniques. Care and maintenance of photographic equipment will be taught and hands on workshops will be run. The final outcome is to enable students to take underwater photographs that are properly composed, focused and exposed.

Including an Underwater Digital Photography manual, use of all equipment, CD of your images. Deduct $40 if you supply your own system

  • Complete SCUBA unit including octopus and gauges
  • Weight belt and weights
  • Mask, snorkel and fins
  • Diving knife
  • Wetsuit / drysuit plus boots, gloves etc
  • Slate and pencil
  • PADI RDP tables
  • Log book
